Nancy Kane, Ph.D., is a movement scholar whose work spans dance education, philosophy of sport, and the history of physical education. Her academic and creative work explores the cultural and intellectual foundations of movement practices across disciplines. 
She is the author of History and Philosophy of Physical Education and Sport and has presented and published in dance pedagogy, sport philosophy, and interdisciplinary movement studies.
Dr. Kane has served as president of the National Dance Association and as editor of the Journal of the National Dance Society. In addition to her academic work, she continues to teach and choreograph, maintaining an active connection between scholarly inquiry and embodied practice.
